Dear Everyone I Know,

I'm moving to Boulder, CO. This is all Gentleman Lover's doing. He had to go be all smart and creative and land himself a gig at the best advertising agency in the land. Way to go. So, in spite of how much I adore my job and we both love complaining about Seattle drivers, the rain, and our cityburb neighborhood, we're leaving sweet Seattle at the end of the month and hiking to Boulder where we will be annoyed with scenes like this:
Boulder2502 Both GL and I promise you that we will not lose one bit of our cynicism or our style just because we're leaving the West Coast. In fact, moving to the land of Trustafarians will give us all new fodder to bitch about. It's the city where there are so many hippie grocery stores that Whole Foods seems commercial. Coffee is hand-picked and organic and shade grown and fairly traded and kissed and carressed before it's ground and spit into my latte mug. See? So much to blog about. We're a wee bit excited about moving to Boulder because it is incredibly beautiful. Unlike Denver, it's nestled in the foothills, loves the biking community, recycles even hair that sheds on your sweater, and is loving called "The People's Republic of Boulder." However, given all this liberalism, GL and I will absolutely, without fail, never, ever, look like this:

I've already sworn to my girlfriends that under no circumstance will living in Boulder pursuade me to ever purchase a pair of Dansko clogs. Before you even leave me nasty comments, I KNOW they are supposedly the most comfortable pair of shoes ever, but this is my f-ing blog and I'll bash them if I want. There is some sort of divergence between style and clogs. Maybe it's the roundness and the wood. Although I'm moving to a city built out of recycled coffee grounds and plastic beer mugs, I WILL keep my style. Pointy shoes, layered tops, skinny jeans, whatever is "in", I'm gonna be IN IT. I'm not gonna get all comfy and outdoorsy just because I'm moving to an outdoor enthusiat city. Sure, I'll still cycle and yoga and maybe even learn how to rock climb (although I think that's unlikely), but I'm still gonna pour over every seasonal issue of Vogue and tear the pictures out and hang them in my closet to copy. Just want to get that clear.

Ok, on to visitation rights. Let's not all come at once. Give us a couple of months to find a place to live, kids. I know Boulder seems really cool, and even cooler now that we're living there, but it won't be too fun when we're all shoved into corporate housing together, will it? So, give us 6 months and we'll have a place and a dog and 2.5 kids and it will be great fun.

If you live in the Seattle area and want to participate in a debaucherous night of beer and missing me, email me and I'll send you an invite to our "We can't help it if you're attached to us" Pub Crawl.

Until then, readers, I'll keep you posted on all the happs at Chez Virgo.

XOXO

You will be missed so much at the house! We are sad. You just wear those red shiny heels in Boulder you can be the trend setter or at least the person everyone at the granola coffee house talks about! Flowers in the attic will never be the same :) Holly

Congrats, GL! I'm happy for him but I simultaneously want to kick his ass. Because, AS YOU KNOW, your next move was supposed to be back here - to SF. Sigh. I will continue to eat at Victor's in your honor.

Sister, welcome home...i have been waiting for this blog!!! I hope you know that we are on for dinner at Barrolo to welcome you back the same way I sent you out...the funny thing is that we are all basically in the same place that we were when you left 7 years ago, but with a lot better stories. Damn, more money..more problems. - See you soon!!!!! And I will come to Seattle for the going away party if you want.

congrats! I know a house in the mountains you could get for a steal. the owner (wood's high school friend) just got transferred to san francisco. 20 minute drive to boulder.

Yeah for you! I'm trying to get my butt out of Dallas. Boulder is a great town, you will enjoy it. I love that area, if you need some fun stuff to do on a weekend let me know. CONGRATS!

I am glad you are moving because you are closer to me and I like CO.

love you!

*sniff*....no more Sarah and Scooter? However shall I go on?!
